Hi! My name is Latasha, but I go by Tasha. I decided to create a blog to get my writing out there and to give my personal opinion about things. Here I’ll be doing book reviews, product reviews, sharing milestones and life experiences, and all that fun stuff. I’ve thought about blogging for quite some time, and now I finally created one. Welcome to Yours Truly, Tasha B!
A little bit more about me: I recently graduated from Florida Atlantic University with my B.A. in English, with a concentration in writing and rhetoric. No, I don’t want to be a teacher; I want to be a writer. I plan to go for my M.F.A. in Creative Writing soon. For now, I’m taking a little break from school to relax, pay off some student loans, and to figure out what I’m going to do for the rest of my life aside from writing.
I love to write (obviously!), and I also love to read. Some of my favorite authors include Sharon M. Draper and Toni Morrison; they both have amazing books that you should read, just sayin! I write teen and young adult fiction and have a few manuscripts that still need editing and such. My problem is finding an editor and convincing myself that I am good enough to be published. Besides novels, I also have an interest in writing short stories, screenplays, and stageplays. I have written at least one of each while I was in school. I like writing everything!
Another hobby of mine is playing and listening to music. The main instrument that I play is the piano, but I do play the guitar a little bit. Throughout elementary school, I played the violin, but I stopped once I got to middle school. Maybe one day I’ll pick up the violin and start playing again. I absolutely adore listening to R&B and classic rock music from the ’80s and ’90s. My car radio is always on Sunny 107.9 playing the greatest hits from back in the day.
I am an American born from a Jamaican family, and I currently live with both of my parents in West Palm Beach, FL. I have an older brother and sister, three loving nephews, and a pretty large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins from both parents. I can’t forget to mention my amazing boyfriend. All of these people push me to become a better person and they all support my dreams.
Not really sure if there’s anything else interesting that I can say about myself. I guess that’s about it for the bio. I hope you like my blog and enjoy reading all of my thoughts and ideas!
